Student volunteers from The University of Texas at Austin will work with the Neighborhood Longhorns Program to provide virtual assistance to 5th graders in Title 1 schools with the Kealing Middle School Magnet Application process.Volunteers will assist Jo Garcia at Kealing Middle School. NOTE: All volunteers must complete a background check through Austin Partners in Education (APIE). See Requirement Details for full instructions.

Registration will close 48 hours prior to each time slot. The Zoom login information will be sent to you prior to your designated session. On the day and time specified, you will connect to Zoom to provide support as needed.

If you cannot attend the date you signed up for, please inform the event organizer as soon as possible.

Requirement Details
All virtual volunteers must complete a background check through Austin Partners in Education (APIE) before volunteering by following the steps noted below. Please allow 7-10 days for processing. 

  1. Go to https://austinpartners.secure.force.com/findOpportunities
  2. From the School-Based Volunteers drop down menu, select Kealing Middle School
  3. Under Opportunity, select Virtual Young Scientists
  4. Submit email and demographic info required for the background check
  5. Wait to hear from APIE about background check clearance
