Safe Quarters 2020

Monday, October 19th from 9:00am to Friday, October 30th, 2020 11:00pm (CT)

About

Safe Quarters has been a staple in the community for 18 years. Each year, over 1,000 volunteers go door-to-door, walking the Lincoln community collecting financial contributions on behalf of Friendship Home. Last year alone Safe Quarters raised over $100,000 for victims of domestic violence! Due to the impact of COVID-19, and for the safety of our community volunteers, supporters and Friendship Home staff, Safe Quarters 2020 is going VIRTUAL! Although the look and feel will be different this year, the mission remains the same. For some, home is the most dangerous place on earth and we need your support now more than ever. With your help, let’s reach our goal of $40,000!

How can you help? Become a Safe Quarters 2020 Team Captain and ask 20 of your closest friends, family and neighbors to donate $20 to your personalized online crowdfunding page. Fundraising dates will run from October 19 – October 31. Team Captains will receive a free, virtual tool kit to help reach their $400 fundraising goal and have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the two-week event. In order to meet the needs of the 1,500 domestic violence victims Friendship Home will serve this year, we need the help of the entire community. Funds raised will provide crisis services, emergency shelter and transitional housing to victims of domestic violence and their children, and help them rebuild their lives free of domestic violence.

To register as a Team Captain contact Dani at 402-434-0167 or danib@friendshiphome.org.
*Team Captain registration begins on September 21 through October 9.
*Team Captain virtual tool kits and a link to create a personalized fundraising page will be provided to Team Captains the week of October 12.
